Teething

At first I thought my baby had a sore throat because he doesn't want to eat or drink ANYTHING, then he started running fevers on and off so that might have been the cause for all of the fussiness. He doesn't want me to hold him or put him down. I started noticing that he rubs his face on everything, ( usually this only happens when he gets sleepy and he's done that since he was born ) but this is different. He will not let me touch his mouth & eats his entire had and is not sleeping well at all! Usually he takes 2, 2 hour naps a day and sleeps about 12 hours a night. Lately it's 1, 1 1/2 hour naps and waking up frequently during the night and it hits me, he's teething! I didn't think of this earlier because he already has his bottom 2 teeth which he got at 4 months old and he didn't care what so ever on what was going on!

What do I do about teething? He hates anything cold touching him, not a huge fan of teething rings, he doesn't want to eat the wash cloth that he usually loves, so I bought him the Night Time Baby Orajel and gave him a tiny bit of Baby Ibuprofen. He's having issues sleeping at night and I refuse to let him win and come out of the crib so he is currently playing in his diaper and has a few good toys to keep him happy and entertained! I know he can't cause trouble in there ;) Once it's bed time the pj's come on, the toys come out and the blanket goes on.

For those of you who do not know the symptoms of teething here you go; Being irritable, drooling, coughing ( the extra spit in the mouth can cause them to cough or choke ) chin rash from drooling, swollen gums, refusing to eat, diarrhea ( this happens because of the extra drool being swallowed so it loosens the poop ) low fevers, not sleeping well & cold symptoms. Unfortunately the teeth come in more at night, so look forward to loosing sleep!
